Nutrition Consultations

Ian is a Nutritional Therapist and Exercise Physiologist and he offers two clinics per week in Morningside Chiropractic Sports Injury Clinic.
He looks after the nutritional needs of individuals with a broad range of health and fitness backgrounds, ranging from elite athletes to individuals with clinical needs. Here are a few common scenarios:

Integrative Sports Nutrition

Integrative (or Functional) Sports Nutrition effectively combines the knowledge of two very different fields of nutrition within a sporting model: the practical, quantitative and food-based Sports Nutrition and the integrative, qualitative and body-systems approach of Nutritional Therapy and Functional Medicine.

the Nutritional Institute

the Nutritional Institute is an educational organisation that was born from the raw passion of two people, Ian Craig and Rachel Jesson, who want to spread the word about real, wholesome food and how that inter-relates with human health and vibrancy. In the words of Ian and Rachel: “We were tired and frustrated, watching people bouncing from one diet to another in the search of the holy grail of diets, only to be left despondent with the power of the food giants and the limitations of singular nutrition theories.”

What is Nutritional Therapy?

Ian is a Nutritional Therapist, a qualification gained in the UK where it is a recognised and popular type of therapy. In the UK, the professional body is called the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT). In South Africa, there are many active Nutritional Therapists, but due to professional body regulations, the profession previously housed by the South African Association of Nutritional Therapy (SAANT), is currently transitioning towards a clearer professional standing.
